Rubber bands for braces hurt!? ?

I just got the rubber bands today and at first it didn't hurt at all. Suddenly, the rubber bands and my teeth began killing me! I took a Tylonel but it didn't do any good. Plus, swallowing pills isn't my forte. Is there anything that I could possibly do to ease this nonstop pain without the use of medicine? Swollen lump, hurts really bad?

There is a swollen lump in the crease of where my thigh and vagina meet. It's very painful, and I have no idea what it is. I've looked up possible diagnoses online, the only things I could find that come close to it was a cyst. The only difference is that all there stories have a happy ending about taking a 30 minute hot bath, have a head develop on it, and popping it. Well when I took a thirty minute bath in hot water, it just got even more sore and tender. It used to not hurt as bad, but it's getting to the point where I have to walk with my legs spread apart a little, and I have to sit with my legs spread out. I can't wear pants , i have to wear loose soffe shorts. and the underwear rubs against it, it's so painful:( I'm not sexually active, but I do shave down there. Usually ingrown hairs go away. The lump is about as thick as a soda bottle cap, and as long as the three keys top to bottom on the number keypad, like, numbers 7,4,and1. It really hurts and I want someone to help me find out what it is. I told my mom but my mom refuses to think there's anything wrong with me :P so of course she's not going to take me to the doctor

What can I do for the ACT?

I'm taking the ACT June 12 and I have been stressing over it nonstop. I have a CD from Kaplan for higher scoring on the ACT and I have absolutely no clue how to do most of the stuff. I have taken several practice tests online and on this CD and I can only range from 21-22. I am a straight A student, always have been. My friends always say I'm smart. I don't understand why I'm so confused while taking these. Can anybody help me out? Is the ACT comparable in difficulty to like the standard prep one you take in 10th grade because when we took that it said I would probably range from 23-26. Why is my car smoking?

I have a 2003 Mazda 6 V6. Yesterday I started it up and it started pouring thick white smoke out of the exhaust. Coolant level was fine and oil was a little low. I added fresh oil and it stopped smoking. When I drove it to work today it started smoking badly again. I checked the oil and coolant when I got to work and both were at the correct levels. I have no 'check engine' light and can't figure out where the smoke is coming from. Anybody have any idea what is goin on?

What's the worst thing you've ever seen or expirienced?? My friend told me how she heard a cat meowing in her garden for 6 hours nonstop, and when they found it, it's legs were basically hanging off. Turns out it was walking along the railway, and a train had come past and sliced it's legs off, the impact throwing the cat and it's legs over the fence, where it had slowly dragged itself to safety behind the shed, and cried for help for 6 hours. She took it to a vet, and they eventually put it down, but they never found the owner of that 12 week old kitten.... :( tell yours please :)

Is the Casey Anthony trial starting to bother you?

I mean, I am very much into this trial. I believe she did it, but I made this answer through rational thought. The medias hype over this trial is starting to actually sicken me. This was a brutal, awful murder of a little girl, and the media, ( however slyfully ) is manipulating people by over-exposing this case.. using it as a ploy. I am starting to notice the public fanatica surrounding this trial as a result. Headlights dim, not assembly?

headlight assemblies are all good. I have a 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. New bulbs as well. Looked at the wire gauges and my fog light wires are thicker than my headlight wires, possibility? The bulb connection looks clean, no dirt, I'm not sure if it could be bad anyways? Checked battery output which is normal with car on, off and with my headlights on so I'm assuming battery and alternator are fine. Really bad road rash? ?

I fell on my longboard yesterday on the road , I put my foot down to push it and my foot slid and scraped my entire leg up on my knee about half way down my shin and on the whole top of my foot. It didnt ating that bad after , then I got home about an hour later washed it out put neosporin on and bandages, at night they fell off then when I went to sleep I couldnt sleep at all. Terrible stinging and pain. Today it hurts sooo bad. my legs cant stop shaking and it is intense pain. Its red all around it about two inches thick around. 15 year old male with stretch marks? HElP!?

I am a 15 year old male and I am fairly fit. I am not ripped but I am muscular. In the past year or so i have lost quite a bit of weight. My body looks fine except for the fact that i've developed stretch marks on my mid-upper back in the last couple months. they came about roughly 3 months ago and were not very noticeable but with time, they have grown darker and bigger. There are a total of 3 and are all roughly 2-3 inches long and maybe 1-3 centimeters thick. If it helps any i started working out at the gym about a month before all this came about in order to get in shape for football. I thought you could only get them from gaining weight or getting pregnant but obviously with my situation that isnt true. Can anyone tell me why i have them, and how to get rid of them? If it helps, i am 143 pounds, 15 years old, and am 5'11"

Why do I just care about her happiness more than mine?

Okay so a little background information: My friend went out with a girl for like 3 months or so. During this time I became very close with who he was going out, and we became good friends. I became her outlet for relationship problems, and I was kind of "in the relationship" it seemed because at one time I was on Facebook and BOTH of them were coming to me about what they should do. I kind of freaked out and let them know that I didn't direct their relationship. I shouldn't of freaked out, but it was just getting ridiculous! Anyways, we were all cool, because my freak out wasn't that bad. I just let them know. But I digress... I became her relationship advisor, which was cool because I had every chance to stand up for my friend. It got to the point where I knew that she was unhappy in her relationship a MONTH before she broke up with him. When she actually broke up with him I was at a water park and I left my phone in the room. When I got back I had a text from him, a text from another one of my friends, and a missed call from her. I excused myself to go in the hall so I could call her back. When she picked up it seemed like she was almost in tears, she had explained that her friends had pressured her into doing it. I comforted her, all the while I was confused. In the weeks that followed she relapsed and realized that she still loved him, and talked with him to explain that she just wanted a break. However, he moved on, while she still got teary eyed thinking about him. Throughout their relationship on my part I started realizing that I had feelings for her, do to the fact that we talked a ton and had a ton in common. She didn't feel the same, but she did say that my conversations with her were a lot more exciting than her conversations with my friend. Recently near the end of school we went on a grade wide trip to a water park. Both of her friends had guys they were hanging out with and she felt like she was a third wheel. That was the first half of her day, my first half was hanging out with my friends nonstop. However me and my friends moved to the indoor part where she was with her friends. It turns out my friends ditched me, her friends ditched her, and one of my friends was also there. So we formed a three person group and we hung out a lot for the next 2 hours. She constantly talked with me about wanting to have a boyfriend and how lonely she was. Before her friends actually ditched her we were all in the lazy river and she was talking with her friend about how she wanted to have a boyfriend. Her friend suggested she went out with me (I don't know if it was sarcastic or not, but it sure seemed like it was) and me and her met eyes for a second, and then she jumped to saying "No!" and she came up with some of the worst excuses possible. It was actually kind of funny. But I digress again, whenever she went to me for advice I pointed out other people. I feel like I wouldn't be able to make her happy, so I ignore my feelings for her happiness. I talked with my friend (the one who went out with her, he's the only one who knows about my feelings for her) on the bus ride home and he criticized my lack of doing anything about my feelings for her that day, and he even told me that I wouldn't get a better chance. But I realized I didn't want my own happiness, I wanted her to be happy. Why is this? If you actually read through that, thanks! :D

How hard is a 300 yard swim?

I know lifeguards in their 50's and 60's so this really isn't that hard once you get your stamina up. There's no trick to not running out of breath easily. You just have to be swimming at *least* 500 yards every other day as fast as you can. That will build endurance. As odd as it sounds, you need more weight on you. That weight needs to be muscle though! So you need to swim a lot and use drills to help you build up your strength. For the brick you just use 1 arm sidestroke to bring it back.

What's the most horrifying expirience of your life?

What's the worst thing you've ever seen or expirienced?? My friend told me how she heard a cat meowing in her garden for 6 hours nonstop, and when they found it, it's legs were basically hanging off. Turns out it was walking along the railway, and a train had come past and sliced it's legs off, the impact throwing the cat and it's legs over the fence, where it had slowly dragged itself to safety behind the shed, and cried for help for 6 hours. She took it to a vet, and they eventually put it down, but they never found the owner of that 12 week old kitten.... :( tell yours please :)

No....they dont forget. To constantly have someone at their bec & call, there to do favors for them, there to do the right thing, always be there, and then to know how to keep them there......it is called "manipulation strategy." My parents won't let my dog come inside. She is outside all the time because she is not potty trained. She is a adult female and gets all the proper care and attention. She is played with CONSTANTLY and is often accompanied with the neighbors dogs as they get along great and love to play and chase each other. I have told them I know how to properly potty train a adult female. She is stubborn and when we tried before it did not work. She is kept warm in the winter, and gets her thick coat trimmed in the summer. In the winter we make sure her water does not freeze over and everything. Plus she has a nice shelter to go in under when she wants to nap, or get away from the weather. Is this okay? And if it is not any way for me to convince them to let her come in?

Will a stylist cut your hair into layers if it your hair reaches your waist?

Okay, my hair literally reaches my waist. Its that long. And i LOVE long hair. I really, really don't want to cut it. Of course I trim it, but I never want or am going to cut it short. But I'm pretty tired of curling it, and then waiting 5 minutes for the curls to flatten out. So I've decided on getting layers but my sister has told me that stylist wont cut your hair in layers if its that long. That they're going to have to cut the length to be able to layer it. I REALLY would want it to stay the same length if i did get the layers done. Is this true? OH and does layers give you much more thinner hair? I also have really, really thick hair and I don't want to thin it out. Does it only get thin if they use a razor? I HATE bulky straight-across layers I've seen on some girls, though. Oh yeah, I almost never style my hair. I usually just straighten my bangs. And I've heard that if you get layers, your hair gets really poofy&&you have to style it everyday. Is that true also? Please help. I want a change in my hair, but I REALLY don't want a dramatic change like cutting the length. Should I just stay with the style I have now considering the fact I dont like the consequences that come with getting layers?

Is my hamster part mouse?

He is white with a cream mask around his face. He looks like a hamster, but a little like a mouse or a gerbil. I didn't think anything of it when I bought him. My other hamster, which I bought at a different pet store but at the same time, has slept all day. I was going to try and have one litter of babies out of them, but they completely ignore each other! I want ones that tame frizz AND help your hair feel soft. I've found ones that make my hair soft, but still frizz is a problem. The herbel essences one sucks. Aveeda made my hair feel soft but not less frizzy. I have wavy/curly decently thick hair, and I need a not super expensive shampoo and conditoner that will help my frizz! Would it be better to eat before or after conditioning practice?

You could either wake up very early and eat so you digest it or you could eat when you get home which is what I would do. If you eat before it then you still may get some cramps so you won't be able to push yourself as hard. If you are worried about not having enough energy eat a hearty dinner night before or you could just have a banana in the morning before. You are apparently supposed to eat bananas before you wrk out. Whatever you do, DONT eat a large breakfast no matter how early you eat. If you Are too hungry at camp try to eat dinner later or even have a small healthy midnight snack. Also regardless of when you eat breakfast make sure you start hydrating as soon as you wake up (which is more important than food) because you need water in your body a good 1-2 hrs before you start working out. This makes up your sweat and if you don't have enough fluids in your body then start drinking water as you exercise then it won't really help you that much. If you decide not to eat breakfast or a banana before then I would drink a gatorade because it will give you the electrolytes you need and you will have enough energy that you might get from food to last for the camp. What do you think I had? (weird symptoms)?

I don't normally get sick, but yesterday, I don't even understand what happened to me. I started the day normal, kind of sore everywhere, but I still think that that was from ice skating the previous day. Around 1, I started having a minor headache. I assumed it was dehydration, and drank about 2 glasses over the course of the next couple of hours. I went to the store with my mom, as the headache subsided a bit. I felt pretty much great for most of the trip, but at the end, my stomach started to hurt, up high. The pain literally travelled from the high point to my lower abdomen over the course of the next 30 minutes. I was not worried, I assumed I needed to use the restroom, so when I got home, I did so, and then laid down, not feeling any better. This is when the worst of it set in. I began to feel extremely cold and was literally *shaking*. I put on long pants, and a jacket, and got under 3 layers of covers, and I still was absolutely freezing, and it was 90 degrees outside. I started feeling mildly nauseous and almost vomited, but then drank a sip of water from my sink and I was a bit better. About 10 minutes later, the pain, nausea, and headache had mostly subsided, but I was still left with jaw weakness from the nonstop teeth chattering, and looking like I was having a seizure as I continued to shake and shiver. I stayed in bed for another hour, and then eventually I had to leave my room for dinner, and I was feeling well enough to eat, though I still didn't have a full appetite, and fortunately my coldness was subsiding by that point. Another hour later, I felt nearly normal, although a very minor headache came back. I went to sleep a bit earlier than usual, just in case, but I feel perfectly fine this morning. Do you have any idea what this could have been? Do you think that, based on the shaking, I definitely had a fairly high fever? (by fairly high, I mean 102, not 105)?

I've had it for over a month now. When I first discovered it, I cut it out, or so I thought. It quickly got worse and now the skin around it has gotten swollen, hard, and thick, keeping me from cutting it out. I think it's infected and it's very painful and sensitive. I would say, don't babysit for her like you do. If she wants to go out once in a great while, that's fine but she is a mother of two innocent kids so she needs to grow up and be a mother. If she keeps it up, I know she's your sister and all, but you should call her out on it, if she doesn't listen and you truly care for your nieces and nephews, call social services. I mean come on, I'm a 17 year old telling your 21 year old sister that she needs to take care of the most precious gifts and she takes all you for granted. More/different discharge than usual?

I'm 12 years old, and I've had discharge since I was about 8 or 9 years old. I haven't gotten my period yet, but in the last three or four months I've noticed a change in my discharge. It's now thick-ish and white, and also clear. And in the last few months, most days, I can actually feel it coming out; that didn't happen before. Today while I was playing volleyball, I swear I could feel it, and I felt like I peed my pants a bit (which has happened before). I've read that about 6 months or so before you get your first period, you may notice more discharge than usual.

Identify Black Spiders on Cape Cod?

I'm staying in a cottage near a pond in Chatham. Its a fairly wooded area. I have seen two spiders inside the cottage...one was pretty small, one was a bit larger, maybe penny sized, that seem to be all black. One was in the bathtub and one scurrying across the ceiling. I need to lose weight, but when i do and actually put in will power I end up barley eating anything, or depriving myself from everything, then in the night I eat and eat and cannot stop myself. I am terrified to eat carbs, and sometimes when I eat sweets I chew it then spit it out. I cannot think anymore, I hate it to have the sudden urge for food. I have lost 6lbs. in one week a couple weeks ago, and I know that's not healthy. I'm scared that my binging will get worse, and I'm terrified to tell someone. Been coughing up white stuff a week now.?

At first I just had a cough then within a couple days I was having nonstop coughing fits. About 2 days into the cough I started coughing up white mucus like stuff. My saliva also became extremely running to the point it was like water in my mouth. I also got an extremely runny nose also not far from water. Then on the 3rd day everytime I would cough it would make my head hurt ( like a headache but not). I have also been waking up in the middle of the night with extreme shortness of breathe. It seems to be worse in the morning and when im going to sleep.

I don't normally get sick, but yesterday, I don't even understand what happened to me. I started the day normal, kind of sore everywhere, but I still think that that was from ice skating the previous day. Around 1, I started having a minor headache. I assumed it was dehydration, and drank about 2 glasses over the course of the next couple of hours. I went to the store with my mom, as the headache subsided a bit. I felt pretty much great for most of the trip, but at the end, my stomach started to hurt, up high. The pain literally travelled from the high point to my lower abdomen over the course of the next 30 minutes. I was not worried, I assumed I needed to use the restroom, so when I got home, I did so, and then laid down, not feeling any better. This is when the worst of it set in. I began to feel extremely cold and was literally *shaking*. I put on long pants, and a jacket, and got under 3 layers of covers, and I still was absolutely freezing, and it was 90 degrees outside. I started feeling mildly nauseous and almost vomited, but then drank a sip of water from my sink and I was a bit better. About 10 minutes later, the pain, nausea, and headache had mostly subsided, but I was still left with jaw weakness from the nonstop teeth chattering, and looking like I was having a seizure as I continued to shake and shiver. I stayed in bed for another hour, and then eventually I had to leave my room for dinner, and I was feeling well enough to eat, though I still didn't have a full appetite, and fortunately my coldness was subsiding by that point. Another hour later, I felt nearly normal, although a very minor headache came back. I went to sleep a bit earlier than usual, just in case, but I feel perfectly fine this morning. Do you have any idea what this could have been? Do you think that, based on the shaking, I definitely had a fairly high fever? (by fairly high, I mean 102, not 105)?

Alright, I will be 16 this August, and my Aunt mentioned Job Corp to me. Here is what has been going on in my life the past year. My mom, has basically abandoned me and my little sister. We are fine because we are with our father, and he takes very good care of us and provides any thing we need, and is very concerned about our education. I attended 7th grade two years ago, which I passed, but have not since then returned to school.. It's a very complicated story, and I won't go into detail.. But on with the other stuff.. We do not associate with her any more. I am very frightened at the thought of returning to school, and not knowing how to do any of the assignments, or school work. Thick brown vaginal discharge?

Okay, so I'm a female obviously, fifteen years old, on birth control, moderately stressed, and sexually active. A couple of months ago I changed birth control. For the first few months everything was alright, but recently I've been experiencing brown discharge through the entire month except when having my period. I don't know who told you you couldn't wrap edges with formica, but you can. In fact you're supposed to finish a laminate job with the edges in the same material as the top. I have a beautiful Australian Shepperd/Beagle Mix who sheds like crazy! He has hair about 2" long on the top of his back and hair 1" and shorter everywhere else. He sheds all the time, but more in the spring. He also has a very thick undercoat that seems to always be falling out as it gets warmer. We brush him nearly every day with a normal brush, but I am wondering if there is a better brush out there. Once you have been on the depo it takes a while for your cycle to get back to normal. It took me a year to get pregnant when i came off my depo injection. Sa few other people i know who also came off depo took them a year maybe longer to get pregnant but it isnt impossible to fall pregnant sooner. You could be pregnant but i would defo do a few tests. dont get your hopes up though as i say depo does mess with your cycle it did with mine for a year and caused me heartache everytime i done a test. headaches are another thing i get a lot of may be a side effect of your depo injection or could be stress or even nothing. good luck

HELP??!! my hair keeps falling out, how do i get it to grow out and thicken again?

kay, i have a really bad problem heree. my hair keeps thining out. like the front sides are slowly thinning outt and i can feel for myself that my hair is not as thick as it as used to be. i cut all my hair off about 2 summers ago, and i NEVER want to have to do that again. i had less than 2 inches of hair going into freshman year(Im 16 by the way) and it was AWFUL and then had to put in extensions. halfway thru sophmore year it started getting longer again so i took out the extensions an put in a perm and had it maintained every 2 weeks by my hair stylist so it was all good, and grew out, then around mayish i noticed it started thinning out again so i stopped all perming and using hot objects in my hair and decided to go natural and it thickened out again and curled and was all good again. but i washed it every day with conditioner and washed it with shampoo every 3 days(im african american, so this prolly wasnt a good idea now that i think about it) and now again its thinning out again and my hair feels like it has no life to it! and im really scared bc i really dont want to have to cut it all off again. its about to my shoulders but my front sides are thinning out and i dont know what to do! i have alot of thing going on this summer so i really need my hair to be back to the way it was. so my question is how do i get my hair to start growing thicker again and how to get it to have more life again. please helppp! i need my hair backk!

The stress of school and getting into an internship is insane.What are my options?I'm this close to, guess?

Basically i've been studying nonstop my entire college career, I have a BA is Psych with a GPA of 3.5(which will get me nowhere) and right now i got accepted into graduate school for nutrition. I'm trying to be a dietition and the internship requires that i take prerequisites. So i'm taking A&P in the summer, but it's killing me. All i do is study, and even worse i don't get the grades i deserve. right now i'm borderlining on a b- to a c+. The Internship requires that i have to get high grades to be competitive, but working this hard, not getting the grades i deserve and not having any time socially(no girlfriend in 10 years, see my friends once every two weeks) and constant panic attacks, is life really worth it. Next week i have three finals in a row for one class, already studied for them, but it's not enough. I'm passionate about nutrition, but am i just too stupid, should i just off myself becuase my life isn't worth living at this point, is my future that dim because of the choices i made in terms of my major?

My dog is scared of rain/storms?

I've had my dog, Jake, for about a year now. He is a year old and about 25-30 pounds. He is a Yellow Lab/Bloodhound mix. He can be quite aggressive but can be like a teddy bear when he wants to be. The one thing that surprised me was that he was afraid of storms! I know that dogs can sense when rain is coming. And when he senses it, he whines nonstop. He will scratch at the windows and whine. Even if it is only rain he constantly whines, wanting to be put in the garage (he is an outdoor only dog). Especially when there is thunder and lighting he stands at the door leading to the backyard and whines. Is there a way I can help him to not be like this? We worry about him when we are gone if there is rain because when he gets bigger, he is likely to want to jump over the fence and run (although we have put up an electric fence). Please help.

Ohk, I found a baby bird in my front yard this morning. We get alot of baby birds so I got a rehabilitation license last year. I had the depo shot for 3 years, i never expiereced any bleeding and sometimes i never got my period for months, if your bleeding a lot, you should probly talk to your doctor. Right now i am pregnant, but it took 6 months of unprotected sex for me to get pregnant after i quit getting my shot. I think if ur bleeding like that, something isn't working out, and you should talk to your doctor about switching birth controls. The only side effect i got from the depo is weight gain, lol and a really bitchy mood. Hope i've helped.

My carbon monoxide detector began beeping very quickly, and then, kept going in one nonstop beep until I took the batteries out. On the label, it says that if there's a carbon monoxide problem, it beeps four times with five second breaks after each four beeps. None of the other detectors are beeping. All my windows are open, and the stove isn't on. I don't have a car. Am I in any danger?

Alright so It's kind of a long story so I'll start from the beginning, Last summer (2010) I met this boy at the pool named Alex he was going to be a sophomore and I was going to be an 8th grader. we started talking and texting alot..meeting each other at the pool etc..
