Would it be better to eat before or after conditioning practice?
You could either wake up very early and eat so you digest it or you could eat when you get home which is what I would do. If you eat before it then you still may get some cramps so you won't be able to push yourself as hard. If you are worried about not having enough energy eat a hearty dinner night before or you could just have a banana in the morning before. You are apparently supposed to eat bananas before you wrk out. Whatever you do, DONT eat a large breakfast no matter how early you eat. If you Are too hungry at camp try to eat dinner later or even have a small healthy midnight snack. Also regardless of when you eat breakfast make sure you start hydrating as soon as you wake up (which is more important than food) because you need water in your body a good 1-2 hrs before you start working out. This makes up your sweat and if you don't have enough fluids in your body then start drinking water as you exercise then it won't really help you that much. If you decide not to eat breakfast or a banana before then I would drink a gatorade because it will give you the electrolytes you need and you will have enough energy that you might get from food to last for the camp.
