Can someine PLEASE help me!!?

So i gotta kitten, and it was an outside cat. And its been meowing ever since!!!! I got the shots and stuff already. But hes been meowing NONSTOP and i know i would be too if i was taken frm my family but idunno. He just keeps meowing!!! I gave him food and water and everytime i try to give him attention he runs from me. You guys should i just take him back to his family? Cause the meowings making me feel bad :( or is there another thing i can do? But im 99.627228% close to taking him back..
